Dawnwatch Hold is the old central seat of the Sentinels of the Dawn, reached above Daybreak Pass. Its archive, barracks, armory, mess hall, chapel niche, and sealed lower works preserve a practical institution: people keeping records, sharing watches, maintaining wards, and caring for one another.[1]

A working stronghold
The archive records repairs and health alongside shifts and supplies. Tools, training marks, impact-spreading armor, and equipment made for different bodies support Lirael’s account of a watch drawn from several peoples. The chapel’s ley working steadies its occupants rather than simply increasing their power.

The burden transferred[2]
The company seats the Thunderdelve orb in a purpose-built cradle and transfers its load into the Hold. They stabilize the south conduit, while recognizing that its deeper drift has not been fully removed.
The older foundation[2]
Below the Sentinel-built stronghold they find older Circle of the Sign architecture. The distinction matters: the Sentinels built above the older work and kept watch over it; they did not create every structure beneath the mountain.
A reclaimed home[3]
Six months after Ashaford, the Sentinels of Flame have reclaimed the old order’s central stronghold in the Ashfangs. Thorek and Tavian arrive from Branloch, and local people contribute to the rebuilding. Its ancient standards are cleaned and kept folded while the new company determines what its own name requires.
A place that eases pressure[3]
Lirael, Selyna, and Vahrenai find that Dawnwatch’s old designs filter the ley through bleed loops. The hold draws off excess instead of hoarding it in an anchor. An isolated vault in dead rock later contains a recovered shard away from those living currents.
