A COMPANION TO BONDS

Explore the profile below. Later developments and revelations are gathered in the expandable story section.

The Whispering Vale is a landscape of rivers, willow thickets, wooded ridges, and old line-keeper marks. The companions travel through it on the approach to Elarisel and again on their return west. Its currents connect local water and fields to larger systems beyond the immediate valley.[1]

Reading a route

Moving through the Vale calls for more than following a road. Weather, crossings, tree cover, old maintenance marks, and the condition of the ley all influence the company’s path.

A repair that lasts[1]

The company interrupts a Shroud working at a megalith that steadies a riverline. On their return, the filled false grooves and Lirael’s hold-mark remain intact, fish occupy the clear water, and the stone carries its own rhythm. Parthal’s returning fields, mill, and ward-post show that the repair matters to people who never saw the fight.
