Vaeril’s failed attempt to anchor the city binds his grief and will into the nexus. The Shroud builds on that binding, using damaged convergences and living vessels to carry its influence outward. Their aim is to extend its reach through existing wounds.
After the release[1]
The company ends Vaeril’s imposed pattern through a controlled transfer into older receiving channels. The Shattered Nexus remains wounded but stable enough to hold without him. The farther presence beyond the Veil remains a separate, unresolved danger.
