Mythrien introduces herself as the last of the Celadrian High Circle and one of the final guardians of Myth Celador’s wards. Silver-haired and violet-eyed, she wears a long, narrow blade and carries a dagger with a pale crystal at its pommel. Her long knowledge of damaged crossings makes her a valuable guide, though she does not immediately share everything she knows.[3]
Appearance[4]
Mythrien has silver hair and violet eyes. At her first meeting with the company, a twilight-colored cloak and hood cover armored shoulders; when she lowers the hood, her hair falls free. Her face remains strong, while her eyes convey weariness and long memory. On the road she ties her hair beneath the hood and keeps a patient watch from the rear of the group.
Personality[1]
Mythrien speaks with the measured cadence of older elven courts, but her formality admits brief smiles and a dry answer. She does not expect a wary company to trust a stranger simply because that stranger offers knowledge. Her manner favors preparation over reassurance: extra water, suitable equipment, and realistic treatment of horses receive the same serious attention as larger dangers. She observes how people work together before assuming what they will do.
Knowledge & fighting skills[5]
Mythrien recognizes disturbances traveling through ley lines and brings extensive knowledge of damaged crossings and old wardwork. Her expertise also includes the routes, springs, and uncertain cisterns that make a difficult journey possible. In a fight, she uses a long blade alongside a dagger, moving into position quietly and intercepting attacks before they reach a companion. The dagger’s pommel can serve as a striking surface, giving her an option other than the edge of a weapon.
Equipment[6]
Her weapons are a long blade and a dagger, with a pale crystal set at the dagger’s pommel. The crystal carries a faint hum at her first approach to the company. Armor and a hooded cloak accompany that paired equipment. For mounted travel she chooses a scarred gray mare after rejecting two other horses, and insists on practical supplies such as water reserves, suncloth, goggles, wraps, and salt.
Working with the company[5]
Mythrien approaches the travelers as people whose caution must be respected. She accepts limits on how far she may accompany them and offers knowledge that can be checked against the road ahead. Her contribution is practical as well as advisory: she watches the rear, insists on timely water stops, and fights beside another traveler rather than assuming that her experience places her outside the company’s shared work.
Story & history[3]
A guide to difficult ground
Mythrien’s experience includes practical travel as well as old wardwork. She understands the route through Parthal into Xer’Arun, the Onyx Road’s uncertain water sources, and the care that horses need to survive the crossing.
An experienced observer
Mythrien reads routes, rooms, threats, and old engineering with practiced attention. She knows Myth Celador from before its fall, but cautions that the ruins have changed beyond any safe reliance on familiarity. Her long blade and dagger serve careful, economical fighting.

History and personal witness[4]
Mythrien recalls the failure of the ancient Celadrian First Circle. Lirael distinguishes a different Circle she helped near Elarisel. In discussing the failed workings, Mythrien separates personal witness from history: she describes walking an aftermath and helping bury what remained, while explicitly saying she was not present when the ritual she describes broke.
Elowen and the road east[4]
She confirms that she met Elowen, though not well, and that Sylas’s mother followed parts of the same pattern. Sylas accepts her as a seventh traveler because she knows the road and the threat, while continuing to question what she withholds. She joins the traveling company after Ael’Tharun’s trials; those trials attuned the original six to the Heartwood.
The report that reached Elowen[7]
Mythrien investigated Myth Celador before its fall and returned nearly thirty years before Sylas’s descent, when fresh Shroud work disturbed the old damage. She reported the spreading pattern to the Crescent Accord. Elowen answered; Mythrien eventually admits her part in bringing that danger to the mage’s attention.
Outside the bond, inside the company[7]
Mythrien never joins the six-person Heartwood bond. She guards its perimeter, interrupts threats, and later carries Selyna out of Myth Celador. She is fully included among the seven founding Sentinels of Flame and makes Dawnwatch her home with them.
