Branloch

A name in Elowen’s journal

A COMPANION TO BONDS

This entry follows the subject as it appears in BONDS.

Branloch is the destination Sylas can no longer set aside at the beginning of BONDS. His mother’s journal marks it with particular urgency. The mining town stands beneath wooded hills rising toward the Bladewind Mountains, and Tavian’s caravan travels there with supplies and contracts for Thorek Deepvein.[1]

Where the search begins

The decision to travel to Branloch draws Sylas away from his established life in Durnhollow. The town’s condition and the people he meets there turn a name on a page into questions he must investigate for himself.

People and places in the town

Mara Flint keeps the Elk & Ember, Thorek Deepvein works its mines, and Sister Serelle maintains the shrine’s remembrance ledger. Deran Hollowmantle’s farmstead lies west of town; the East Trail leads toward the cave system in the hills.
